BEELDEND / VISUAL

I remember painting from a young age. I have always found it interesting how intensively the oil paint can communicate. A painted image, in my opinion, gives space in the matter behind the created, in contrast to how the well-known modern media photography and film do for me. In this time, as a painter, you are talking about painting itself in relation to the paintedAlthough photography and film are the sources that I consult, I am always looking for more. What is painting? What does it do (with us)? I see light as a conceptual statement. It determines what is disclosed and what is not. I want to raise questions with my painting. Questions about the medium as well as what the medium depicts. Although I incorporate photographic and cinematic aspects in my paintings such as cut-offs and light, I want the paint and the time required by the medium to work with the image I create.
